Well Be-Hived

Poor Gavin is having some kind of reaction to something. At this point we don't know what it is, and may never know. Best bet is a reaction to the antibiotics he had to have for his raging ear infection. Why the hives started showing up at the end of treatment, I don't know. Nothing else has changed interms of what he has come in contact with, although it is polllen season and everything outside is covered in yellow oak pollen. Hopefull it is not that, since we live in Oak Hill.He gets red welts wherever there is any pressure applied, and skin-to-skin contact seems to make it worse...maybe because of the heat? The photos were taken after two different nursing sessions, and you can tell which side he was nursing on. The hives come up quickly and are gone just as quickly. We spoke with the doctor on Saturday night, and she said as long as there were no other symptoms...breathing difficulty, fussiness, fever...it was harmless, if a little annoying. They don't seem to bother him, although he can't say, "Ma! I am really itchy!" just yet. He is still as happy and smiley as always. My obsessive internet searching seems to confirm what the Dr said so I am trying not to get too worked up about it, but, as the pictures show, it is quite alarming looking.
